Unable to join together bolt thread despite intersect a closed circle

Hi,
V5
bolt from an online library.
why am I unable to join these threads together to get a solid ?
intersection shows closed circle.

Hi Steve - you need to extract the mating faces on each section and delete - each section is a closed solid.
