Hello, I am new to rhino 7 and currently taking a class that requires me to use this software. I am having an issue where I cannot edit any of the masses I created previously. Every time I click on the masses it does not highlight it as before. My work used to look like the first image attached but now every document I open looks like the second image and I am unable to work on it. For my assignment, I only used the box tool, BooleanUnion, and MergeAllCoplanarFaces commands. If anyone knows how to get back to the original picture that I was able to edit and create it would be much appreciated.
Hello - I’d re-set the shaded display mode to defaults - Mptions > View > Display modes > Shaded page > Restore defaults.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just tried what you suggested but it did not fix the problem. I am still unable to select the masses I created and visually it looks the same as well.
Hi Alyssa - please post the file here (public) or send to tech@mcneel.com with a link back here in your comments.

Hi Alyssa - how are you opening the file - just File menu > Open?
-Pascal
I’ve tried opening the file in every way I could think to do. I tried opening the rhino software first and then opening the file through that. I’ve tried going through files on my PC and opening it up that way. I’ve tried searching it up on the taskbar and opening it up that way. I don’t know if there are any other ways I could open the file.
Hi @Alyssa_Horvath,
I see that you are opening the file from OneDrive. Bit of a long shot but if you copy the file to the desktop on your PC and open it from there does it work better?

I just tried your suggestion and it did not work. I also deleted rhino this morning and reinstalled it and tried to see if that would fix the problem but the issue is still occurring. I’m not sure if rhino saves the settings you have changed even if you completely delete it and reinstall it or if it’s an issue with just this save file. I have this issue with all my files now. I am very new to Rhino so I’m very confused as to why this whole issue began.
Cold comfort I know, but I’ve been using Rhino for many years and this confuses me too…
Could you create a new Rhino file, using a different template from the one you used to create your troublesome drawing, then just draw a simple box in it with the viewport set to Wireframe mode. Then see if you can select the box you just drew. If that doesn’t work, let us know. If it works, deselect the box and change the viewport mode to Shaded and see if you can still select the box. Again, let us know how you get on.

Hey guys, thank you all for trying to help with this issue. Yesterday night I decided to upgrade my computer to windows 11. After the upgrade, I looked at my GPU driver and the newest version was not performing well with my computer. I downloaded a GPU driver that was the second latest version and all the problems were resolved and my Rhino 7 was back to how it originally was. I must have had a software issue but it is fixed now and I was able to finish my assignment. Thank you to everyone who tried to help.
