Hi Claire -
From the system requirements for Rhino 7 for Windows:

Not supported

  • Virtualization systems such as VMWare, Remote Desktop, and Parallels

-wim

Thanks Wim,
So Rhino can no longer be run on Parallels?! This seems like a massive change I’m surprised they would do that as I know a lot of people that use this method for running rhino on mac with Vray.
I am able to use Rhino no problem without saving, it just wont let me log into my license?

I don’t use Parallels but it looks like something is wrong with your network setup (127.0.0.1 is the local loopback address).

Are you able to connect to websites through Parallels?

It is not supported but that does not necessarily mean it will not work, just that McNeel will not provide support if you’re having problems.

There is no change. Virtualization like Parallels have never been supported, but not blocked either. We do make efforts to get them to work but they constantly change so have never been officially supported.

Now you’re seeing why.

I used to use VMWare Fusion. It worked much better than Parallels, but still had too many problems to move to the supported list.
Now I use multiple computers.
I don’t mess with Bootcamp partitioning either.
