I am having issues with the input windows (named views, blocks, block manager etc.) disappearing behind the main Rhino window when I have it on my secondary screen. I can only escape out of the running command, move the main window back to my primary monitor to then access the command window. Bug?
Hi Mecky - floating panels should always float in front of the main window - can you please run SystemInfo in Rhino and post the results? Note if you have floating panels and toolbars and Rhino loses focus, these floaters will disappear but should come back when Rhino gets focus again - it does not sound like this is what you are seeing but, just in case.
apologies for the late reply. I did not have any problems recently but now the problem is back. I disabled Vray as suggested, restarted, but the problem persists. Apparently only on the secondary monitor. I tried to save a named view and the window for renaming stays somewhere behind the main Rhino window. I moved the Rhino window to the primary monitor and the Named View window for renaming the view appears on the front just fine.
Hi Mecky - another thing I notice in your system info is that the drivers for both the Intel and nVidia display adaptors are old, especially the Intel. I would update both from the respective websites to the latest available, and take it from there.
You should also update Rhino (help menu) to the latest (7.3)
I am not able to update the graphic drivers. They are somehow hooked to the laptop and controlled by the manufacturer. I updated Rhino. Problem persists. Any other suggestions?
I did disable Vray. This is what I get from Intel on checking it´s driver update. Last time I checked, Nvidia was doing something similar. I checked the current version and what the manufacturer offeres. It`s up to date.
By the way, I think to remember that the same happens on my desktop. I’ll check next time I am in the office.
Hello - I would do this - first, check the Intel and NVidia websites for latest drivers for your GPUs, and second, set up your laptop to prefer high performance over battery saving.
