Turn one osnap only on QUICKLY then revert back to previous setting when done?

is there a QUICK way of turning on one osnap such as point, then after having spent time copying an object to many points, reverting osnap back to how it was set up before ‘point’ only was chosen ?

Yes. They are called “one shots”.
Open the Osnap toolbar.
Left clicks are one-shots.
Right clicks are persistent.

also if you choose from the osnap toolbar with the RMB it will disable the rest. except what you have clicked, and then, rmb again on that osnap to go back
