Trying to fillet edge on wishbone ring - (an additiononal fillet help needed)

Sigh… Will try to figure out what I’ve done wrong.
I built this wishbone as in tutorial (see my last comment here:)

Wishbone ring - what is the fastest way to create?

From the image (cannot access the video from here), I could draw the two outline curves in the front view and extrude those a distance beyond 7.6. Then I would draw the curves in the top view and extrude those well beyond the ring object and use the new surfaces to trim the ring. Use the ring to trim the surfaces and join. It is also not plane from finger hole to outside of shank, see right view.

Or this way is not good to make fillet afterwards?
The question is how I make it all one plane together? Any ideas? And again thanks a lot for the help! Really appreciate!
