Trimmed surface to quad mesh

Hi,
Basically, we get nurbs iges or wire or step file from alias surface or automotives and we have to use it for rendering as mesh in Maya.

Nurbs can be trimmed. If we have a trimmed nurbs/surface model like bike engine with lots of complex patches , can we get quad mesh with correct normals, materials as it is on surface model and weld mesh to form continue mesh?

I tried to do so by this tutorial link below, it does good job but the trimmed surfaces after conversion becomes untrimmed mesh and the model is in mesh patches with lots of polygon faces. There must be some algorithm to handle this.

I am aware about the rhino 7, but I don’t use it, is there any way to do so through visual script?
I hope technically Rhino can do this.

Thanks!
