Trimmed Srf issue with Raytrace

I have a recurring issue using raytracing with trimmed surfaces.
I will often import a picture of a gemstone to place in a rendering to better show a client the look of their design. After importing a picture with a gem in it, I trim around the gem so as to show only the gem itself.
Even after applying the command Shrink to Trimmed Srf the image reverts to the original image when raytracing. Is this something that can be fixed?
The image works fine in render mode. I’m attaching two images to illustrate. One is rendered, the other raytraced.
Any help appreciated.
Kindly,
Gary D

Hi Gary - that should work - can you please run SystemInfo in Rhino and copy/paste the results here?

Hi Gary - this is fixed but it looks like the fix is in 7.8 only, which is not public yet.
