I’m not sure if this is the intended result, but it seems like it shouldn’t be. For more precise trimming actions, I like to zoom in after selecting a wider range. However, this results in everything not visible in the viewport, despite lying in the marquee selection range.
Is this an error, do other people experience the same on their version of rhino or is this the intended result of this function?
V8 Windows: If I select objects to be trimmed using the marquee window and continue to press the left mouse button, then zoom in using the mouse wheel so that part of the marquee window goes off the screen, then release the left mouse button, everthing selected, both on and off screen, is trimmed.
Thanks for verifying. I expected as much. It’s true I’m using V7 on mac. Haven’t found the need to upgrade to V8 yet. Still I would think this is a pretty basic error. Hope it gets fixed
V7 Windows: Compared to V8 Windows after zooming only the objects visible on the screen are trimmed. It looks like this was changed in V8.
I very strongly doubt it will be changed in a future V7 update. In general McNeel rarely updates the previous version of Rhino, Note though that I’m not affiliated with McNeel and don’t speak for them.
If it’s like that in the V7 version of windows it’s sure not to be a bug. That pretty much puts the nail in the coffin for it ever getting changed on mac either.
Thanks a lot for testing on both versions! At least that gives me some confidence that I won’t face this issue in the future when I update to V8.
