Top view temporary ortho snapping at 45 not 90 degrees

In the ‘top’ viewport my ‘ortho angle’ is set to 90 degrees but i keep getting 45 degree lines when i press shift,
i’ve tried changing it to 45 but that doesnt work either, i get lines at weird angles.
both the right and front views work fine snapping at right angles.

It’s driving me crazy, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, is your CPlane in your top viewport rotated? Or are you saying you get ortho on 0, 45, 90 etc instead of just 0, 90 etc?
