Top bar only with file name taking up space

Hey.

I just downloaded Rhino 9 WIP on a Mac and the first thing I noticed is that there’s a thick bar on top of the screen showing only the filename even in fullscreen. It is taking up a lot of space and it would be great if there was an option to hide it (and if there already is, I’d like to know how ti find it  ).

Thanks for the amazing work!

Hi Vojtech,

In windows you can modify this in the Rhino>Properties>Appearance, on mac this is in the advanced settings but currently broken.

RH-96022 Rhino.Options.Appearance.MainWindowTitle advanced setting has no effect in Rhino 8 and 9

in my understanding while snooping around is that liquid glass is being applied to the title bar now. but i am not sure if it is even intended by apple in this configuration.

generally apps that adopt the liquid glass including apple itself are actually going towards a more seamless experience entirely using the title bar if allowed to show (many actually can hide it) for tools vanishing it into a functioning part.

please revert that to a slimmer bar since it takes a lot of vertical space. on an apple studio display which already is quite narrow due to its 16:9 ratio having such a huge bar taking away space is no joke really dramatic.

did that ever work on mac?

also one thing is maybe unnoticed as pointed out by @Vojtěch_Pavel_Podves that in v8 for Mac the bar vanishes entirely when set to fullscreen so that additionally towards the big empty bar is actually a regression.
