The update didn't start

Hello, I should have asked the same question long time ago, I searched and cannot find- same problem, as you can see, all things in this panel are not clickable except that “check now”
It says the update exe file downloaded and It will update the Rhino but nothing done.

More important is: I want to search out that downloaded exe for manual install but there is no location path indidcated in the panel… I have asked this, someone responded but I cannot find it out, sorry.

Please try to close the currenttly running Rhino, and then Rhino should begin installing the new version.

You can usually find them below,
C:\Users<Your name>\AppData\Local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache

Hello Jessesn, Restarting the rhino did’t update the Rhino, and

I cannot reach that path, “Allan” should be the User. Because this is company machine, it is not my personal name.

pleas run the SystemInfo in the command line of Rhino and copy-past its output here.

Sorry this is my falut, the right path is
C:\Users\ [Your name] \AppData\Local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache

Great, did you find any relevant content in the User or 公用

Nope, all are not related to names

Should I go to Rhino site for manual install?

Please note that “AppData” is usually a hidden folder, so you can try searching using the following two paths,

  • C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache
  • C:\Users\公用\AppData\Local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache

Yes, I think you can visit following page and give it a try,
https://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/latest/

I have the exe downloaded.
As I know, the license is Zoo type, how can I locate to Zoo name? Or should I just pick “this computer” with serial number input? thanks

I suggust you still using Cloud Zoo to manage your Rhino licnese, you can choice the loggin option.

I have successfully updated the Rhino to SR18. Thank you for guiding me in detail. Last thing is about SR18- is there any description about whats updated? Thank you again.

Found this.Thanks.

Sounds great, fyi,

Hi -

In order to be able to click anything in that dialog, the “Enable Updates and Usage Statistics” option at the top needs to be checked.

It’s rather peculiar that Rhino says it downloaded a newer version. Did you uncheck that option after Rhino had done that?

I think it is about the guy who used this computer earlier than me, did not tick the “receive update” button when install Rhino.
