Okay, I think I “solved” it — I don’t know why, but the file I was working on opened in Rhino WIP. That’s where the problem was. It works fine in Rhino 8. It must be a bug in Rhino 9.

Could you please share this 3dm file? Thank you.

It probably won’t be of much use to you, I think. I don’t understand what happened in the meantime — basically, I tried to reproduce the same bug again, but now it doesn’t cause any issues, not even in Rhino WIP.

Here’s what I did, as shown in the screenshot:

  1. Projected the curve onto the dividing plane.
  2. Extruded the curve using the Gumball (previously it always failed, as shown in the video).
  3. Used Rhino’s Rebuild command and tried extruding again with the Gumball (it still used to fail).

But now, magically, it seems to work. Anyway, here’s the file.

Thanks for your sharing, but I can’t reproduce this issue in RhinoWIP(9.0.25308.12305, 2025-11-04). Do you want to try it in the latest version of RhinoWIP? If so, I will share the download link with you via DM.

:saluting_face:Alright, but I’ll run the test tomorrow and let you know — I’ve got some work deadlines to deal with at the moment.
