Hi Sam - please send the model to tech@mcneel.com, and add a link back to this topic in your comments.

Sent – and I just double checked, it does in fact throw the same error via File > Export or ExportAll.

Hi Sam - thanks - Export/ExportAll works here, but there are several missing blocks.

-Pascal

Sorry for the delay. Every time I try to export to a pdf it crashes and Rhino closes completely. I tried the simplest of models … the same. Next steps?
Tim

Hi Tim -

Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

-Pascal

Sorry … where is the “System Info” … how do you run it?
T

Hi Tim - SystemInfo is just a command in Rhino, you can type it, as with any other command.

Thanks - I will update to 11.4 and see if I can reproduce the problem. Does the crash occur if you

  1. Quit Rhino completely,
  2. Start a new session.
  3. Make a box.
  4. Export to pdf…

-Pascal

Anytime I am exporting it completely crashes. I have even restarted my computer a couple of times.
T

I just tried a Box again. This time it works.
This file is 71Mb. Should this matter?
T

Yes… Do you mean the pdf is that large? What is the paper size and resolution used, in the Print dialog?

-Pascal

The entire Rhino file is that size. I cant get to the point where I have a pdf so I dont know what size it would be - I am using Vector; Setting the Window size/location; 500 Res; 8.5" x 11"

If there is just a box in the file that is a problem in itself. Please start a new file NOT using any template, and save it - do nothing else. How big is that file?

-Pascal

Misunderstanding - I was referring to the file size that I am working on; that is 71Mb. The Box file is just 2.6Mb. I CAN get a pdf from that …

After your next response I have to run to a meeting …
Thanks,
Tim

If this is file specific, please send us the file - www.rhino3d.com/upload, to my attention and with a link back here in your comments, please.

-Pascal

Done. Hope it worked.
Tim

Thanks, I have the file and it prints/exports, here, from both Winfows and Mac Rhino.
I see there is an image missing - it appears not to be in use - that is, it is in a material which seems not to be used by anything - just to see, can you Purge the file before exporting, purging unused materials and textures - does that make any difference?

-Pascal

I tried Purging. Same issue. Doesn’t work.
Do you think I have to uninstall and reinstall Rhino?
