The easiest way to permanently destroy your layer structure (pit fall)

It’s very simple: all you have to do is miss the top line by just a little bit and click on the table header, and the layer structure is gone. No undo can help the user restore the structure; now everything is sorted alphabetically. A great surprise when you have a complex project with lots of layers.

Dear McNeel team, please add a feature that allows users to restore the custom structure or fix it permanently.

Micha

It would be best if you could simply deactivate the table reordering by clicking on the header, and then reordering would only be possible by selecting the desired operation from a menu. This would certainly prevent accidental reordering.

Under the layer panel “Tools” menu, uncheck “Column sort”.

Great, thank you very much.
