Texture mapping

A basic question. Is there any way to control the direction of each face individually?
If I use Rotation in the texture mapping panel, I only ever get one or two sides they way I want, but not all 3 (front, side, top).
I basically want the grain to run longitudinal to the face in all directions. is there a way to do this?

ok, so I managed to do it with the texture mapping widget.
but it’s a few more steps. OUld be great if these sorts of changes could happen in the panel somehow?

I’d use the UVeditor to rotate the islands for each face as needed. You’d also need to make sure the material’s texture is set to mapping channel 1 not WCS.
