Texture couldn’t be applied but instead asks for material ID, i am currently using Rhino 8 and the objects I am selecting are extrusions and polysurfaces.

How are you tryin to assign the material? Drag’n’drop, Right-click or something else entirely? Are you assigning materias by object, layer etc.? Also, make sure that if you are dealing with blocks, you need to be in block edit mode before changing the materials.
