Texture mapping in future releases


I was wondering if there are any plans to support mapping properties on object level at some point.
Basically a node that allows inputs that can control these parameters would be very very helpful for any rendering related tasks.

I did use HUMAN to solve some of my needs, but what I am really hoping for is control of native surface mapping on nurbs objects.

@DavidRutten or @nathanletwory who’s been working on some shader nodes for his Raytraced work may be able to offer more info here.

There are no specific plans at the moment, however a more generic pipeline for storing custom data on top of regular data is part of the next major release of Grasshopper. I was planning to include other bake-able properties such as layer, name, group, line-width, etc. and there’s no reason mapping data couldn’t be implemented in parallel.
