Texture display problems in SR14

I’m seeing lots of display problems where objects just go black and loose their texture mapping in the viewport. This was happening quite a bit.

If I render the view the textures are there and the rendering is fine so it looks like it’s a display problem mostly.

Also if I use the command refresh textures that makes the textures on the objects visible again in the viewport.

I’m using lots of textures and frankly I’m amazed and gratified how magnificent the Rhino rendered view is. It’s really incredible. Could be that it has to do with my vid memory and that getting maxed? Still would be nice if this didn’t happen.

Hi Roland -

Can you post a 3dm file in which you observe this behavior? As simple as possible.
Apart from that, I would disable the 3rd party plug-ins for a while and see if that changes anything.

Hi Wim,
That’s the problem and the reason I suspect vid card getting maxed is it only happens in this large file. When I have less textures and smaller files I don’t run into this. The only other time I ran into it was using a 4k texture which when I down sampled it to 2k caused the texture to display again without using refresh textures so maybe something with vid mem maxing?
Thanks for your reply and I will try to narrow it down to something simple if possible.
