Hello! I encountered an issue when creating profiles in Tekla after updating to the latest version. I’m not sure, but I have a feeling something has changed in the profile creation algorithm because previously, I could define any point outside the profile outline. Now, when I select a point outside the outline, the profile doesn’t get created. @sebastian.lindholm has something changed?
Hi Aleksander,
It seems this happens when the origin is outside of the section bounding box. It probably has to do with the implicit part positioning planes being on the wrong side of the origin, not sure if there’s anything we can do about it with this kind of profile generation from outline approach.
I get the same behavior even if I downgrade to Tekla 2023 1.14. So no recent updates have changed anything. If you know what older Tekla/link combo works differently let me know and I’ll have another look!
The flickering beam at the end of your video could be caused by the creation/update of two profiles at the same time, but they then apply to only one beam. One of the two profiles seems to be legal (origin inside) and the other not. But hard to say from the video alone.
Cheers,

Thank you, @sebastian.lindholm , for your response. It’s not related to the version, as the same issue also appeared in older versions during my workflow. I discovered that the problem seems to be connected to the curve input. With line input, you can set the origin outside the section bounding box, but with certain curves, it works, and with others, it doesn’t. I’m still investigating what’s causing this problem, but I’ll try to figure it out.
