Sweep 1 application

Hello, I’m testing Grasshopper for the first time and I tried to make a parametric bench, but when I tried to use the drawn sections and apply Sweet 1 it ended up being deformed. The idea was that the sections would just decrease the height of the backrest from the highest to the lowest. I’ve already looked for other topics, but they were too complex for my level.

The sweep surface cuts back into itself because your rail curve has too much curvature. This won’t work. Rotating the profiles doesn’t really help.

  1. You’ll have to shorten the rail.
  2. The profiles have different point structure. Loft or Sweep works better when the curves have equal number of points.
  3. The data structure could be improved too…

I tried Sweep2 but in the end I think Loft looks best and takes the least effort.

I came to the same conclusion.
Adjusting the seam of the profile or flipping direction wont help but slight adjusting the rail does:
