Your Surface is not a Solid.
Try this: Sort by area and select the middle split surface. You have 3 resulting surfaces, each with different calcualted areas, a small, medium and large. By the visible area of the geometries, you want the medium area. The sorting of the areas ensures it will be in the middle position.
