Surface split doesn't work

Hi there,

For some reason, my Surface Split in Grasshopper isn’t working correctly. I believe everything is set up properly with the same number of branches and consistent naming for the trees. It’s a very small and simple script, but for some reason, all the splits work except for two, which fail in seemingly random spots.

Thanks in advance for looking into this!

Best regards,
Tim

It seems to work fine here but in four branches you get three surfaces and not just two.

What Rhino version are you using? Maybe post your System Info…

Unfortunately I still cannot upload images or files…

Thanks Martin

Compleetly missed that :C…

Now i am trying to split the tree in such a way that i have one with the branches that contain 2 items and a other branch that contains 3 items per branch. Do you know by any change how to do this?

You don’t need to filter the branches with three fragments. My solution works for both two and three fragments.

Get the bounding box and then box properties for all fragments.

Sort the y coordinates of the bounding boxes (flat boxes) and cull the first item.

I have a file but cannot upload.
