When I apply a material to an object (in this case SubD) it goes automatically to Surface mapping and then I have some controls: position, rotation, size, repeat… but none of these controls seem to have any effect.
Why do they show if there’s no effect?
At least repeat should have some visible impact…

The sliders only affect the UV, Box, etc.
Yes, indeed, and I use them all the time for Planar, Box, Sphere.
I would like to manipulate the Surface mapping also. For example moving and rotating the texture would be very useful…
And since the UI is already there, I am wandering, is this a feature that can be implemented in the future… ??
(atm these kinds of manipulations can be done on the material texture itself in material editor but it’s inaccurate and inconvenient)
I tested it out, and the sliders under UVW (Offset, Repeat) work on NURBS objects; however, they don’t seem to work on SDS objects—apparently, actual UVs are required in that case. (Typ Surface)
I have no idea why; I’m sure only a developer would be able to answer that.
