Surface face not appearing

I am trying to unroll the front surface of my model but there is no contour line to select. I see the contour line for the back surface, but not the front.

there should be a contour line just above my drawn in line in blue, but it isnt there

Does running ShrinkTrimmedSrf on the object make that isocurve appear?
If not, please post the 3dm file - it’s hard to debug from an image.

Thanks @wim . That did not work. I was able to get a new contour line on the back surface of the object, but not the front, which is the surface i need.

There is no front surface on that object. Each hole has a cap in the front and when you shrink the surfaces, you will see that isocurves are drawn on each of those:

You’ve got some serious gaps between all those surfaces, though…

@wim hhmmm. i am importing this file from autocad. It is a 3d solid so there should be a surface and am not sure why there is a cap on the holes rather than a hole through a solid object
