Suggestion: Why not to embed small jpeg in notes?

Hello again

I always export my boolean objects, such as this piece, for making paneline of a plane.

Sometimes I am requested to modify these, maybe at different position, or wider distance at between.
My problem here is: it is difficult to identify in tons of boolean object files.

So I hope, there is something to help me identify the right piece, when I am request to go backward and pick the right boolean piece to adjust. the “Note” inside the 3dm file is a good way to identify, but its not visualize. I hope it can embed small jpeg. I hope developer see this. Thanks

So the problem is to find for example piece ‘Boolean_20250 410_0937’ in Rhino?

The situation is: this 3D maybe done half years ago and in this half year I am handling similar complexity project, I don’t remember when I did this piece ( or even adjusted several times of different versions on the same piece), so if there is a piece of jpeg embeded on that export visualizing the surrounding stuff can recall what i did, export command doesn’t include the surrounding objects. I can export the surrounding data as well, but this will greatly increase the file size.

The parts in your Rhino file have corresponding object names?

And, that is not the piece.

I use export selected and name it as Boolean_date_time, which is similar behavior of incremental save command.

Besides, incremental save command save all data in the rhino file, If the original file is 1GB, it will incremental save another 1GB file, so I do this way of “export selected”

For the future, I would suggest either naming the parts and using the object name as a part of the file name or define user attributes…

Incremental save use many space! I cannot rely on “incremental save” and need to use better way to save file.

Hi -

We have that request on the pile as RH-685 Images in notes
I’ve added this thread.
I’m not convinced it would solve your issue, though…

Thanks- with attached image in notes, it can remind me more things related to that piece of exported 3D.

Alternatively, if there is auto saving of working screen (jpg), maybe 1 minutes a shot instead of autosaving 3dm files, that can help as well.
