SubDMatch: A new command to match SubDs to other Rhino objects

I tested the SubDMatch command in Rhino 9, it was great, thank you

Sorry for the late reply. I’m attaching a file where it possible to see the capacity of Subdivision Surface to generate a N-Sided patch with G1 or G2 at the boundary and G2 internal.

Hi @Mehraneftekari , that’s great!

Where did you get Rhino 9?
The link at the top leads me to Rhino 8 Eval.

I want to keep testing this command. Thank you

Hi @Rene_Medel1
Unfortunately I can’t post the link, McNeel herself will if she sees fit
Thank you

I can bet you have to wait until December.
Bob said when v8 it’s official the wip 9 will be available.

They still have to fix the thousands of bugs (both new bugs and those that have been dragging on for a long time) of the new version and already think about Rhino 9!
To see what? some new commands… really ridiculous!

Instead, start focusing on development more convincing blend, match surface and fill tools: on the one hand we have the fantastic “ShrinkWrap”, but a lacking srf blend or you are unable to perform a banal fillet (for example).

Bobi has been trying to focus attention on these fundamental tools for several years.
We look forward to…

And don’t say I’m a critic! because if we did a survey, many users would ask the same thing. :relieved:

This command would be such a life saver! Would it be possible to somehow use it in Rhino 7 or 8 ? Any way around not using the latest WIP ?

Cheers everyone

Hi, bought the Rhino 8 upgrade mainly for this amazing SubDEdgeMatch function.

But where is it please?

Did you rename it? Please if you can explain how we get access to it.

Thanks

Hej -

This was explained earlier in this thread:

… and, typically, a WIP for the next version becomes available once a new version is released. This time around, though, events made it so that we are continuing to work hard on Rhino 8, and that focus on a Rhino 9 WIP would be misplaced.

Hej,
Ok, yes but where is the Rhino 9 WIP please?

Would have been cool if it was implemented in V8.

T

Ouch, does this mean we cannot access it, despite your fantastic “pitch” above?

This function alone would justify the upgrade…

@Torquee Rhino 9 WIP is now available for download, and includes the SubDMatch command.
