Subd plane on Mesh

V8 workflow:

  • Turn on EditPtOn for the SubD
  • Stay in smooth SubD display mode
  • Lock the edit points of the SubD that you want to keep fixed
  • Select the edit points of the SubD that you want to move
  • Use the Align ToCurve command to move the vertices of the SubD’s limit surface to the curve

WIP Workflow:

In both cases, the position of the SubD limit surface vertices only is matched. The curve and the SubD boundary can still be different if the curve is not a degree 3 non-rational B-splines with the correct number of control points. SubDMatch does help a lot by matching the SubD vertices to careefully selected points on the curve so more cases can be a full match between curve and SubD boundary, not just pointwise.
