SubD model will not let me choose points/edges/faces using cmd+shift

I have a model that no longer lets me pick edges, points or faces when holding down the command / shift. I think I’ve found a major bug in the SubD program. Any one else see this issue…

no issues here on windows check if selection filter is off

I know, I start another subd model and no trouble…I can send you my model and you tell me whats wrong…cant edit at all

i can select when clicking on it but it doesnt highlight thats strange

i tried quad remesh and it works now

says its an obj source maybe this is giving the issue?

I’ll try that, but, I thought I’d save it the way it is and send it to McNeel…it should not have done that…

I tried it and it doesn’t work…it quad remeshes but loses all detail

I have no idea what that means…but others may encounter this issue and I’d like McNeel to look at it. If you’ve repaired it, could you send it back?

try another file format like 3dm

other than quadremesh i dont have any another solution mcneel will surely know what to do

Thanks for your help…this is weird to say the least. Quadmesh didn’t work very well as all creases and accentuations disappeared. We’ll see what McNeel has to say…thanks for trying.

hey @Jim_Girard , your model is grouped.

simply run the ungroup command a few time and your edge selection will come back.

i didnt even know one could group subDs and one object or does subd count as one object?

there is always something new to learn :melting_face:
