SubD color doesn't change

Greetings,
I have a SubD with Display Color set to green but no matter what color i assign to it it shows up red.
Why?

Something weird happening with symmetry and the distance from the origin.

if you remove symmetry, or move the part to the origin, the color reverts back to normal-

This is a bug in the SubD reflection plane display, I logged it today: RH-87218 SubD Reflection plane display: SubD far from origin has very thick reflection plane
