SubD becoming invisible - BUG

Hi all.
Today, opened a file… missing the main SubD of my project! Scary!
Luckily I had a 30 minutes older version…

Lately I’ve found something strange: osnap doesn’t work, I can snap to some “ghost” end points, mid points, vertex… my SubD! It was there! But invisible!
I reverted back the file, now my SubD is correctly visible since start.


Now, something similar happened more other times in past, but today I’ve found a way how to replicate it:

  • maximise perspective viewport
  • create 2 SubDs in visible on screen space
  • select and move SubD_1 to fall behind the camera plane
  • without moving camera, click on empty space to deselect
  • without moving camera, CTRL-SHIFT select and delete an edge of SubD_2
  • zoom out > SubD_1 is invisible!
    No edges, no rendermesh. But is selectable. Moving the subd fixes the problem.

I don’t know how, but apparently my saved file managed to save the current bugged state of my subd, I wasn’t able to replicate this in specific…

Note, if you move the subd behind current perspective viewport, but other the subd is still visible in some other viewport, the bug doesn’t occur.

I’ve been unable to reproduce this so far…
Got it now - it does this with a SubD box and not with a SubD sphere.
