Sub-D to NURBS and Back

Trying to understand the “workflow” or possibility of creating a model initially with Sub-D geometry, then converting it to NURBS/Polysurfaces and then back to Sub-D. Is this even ideal? Is anyone doing this and how have the results turned out. The geometry that happens when coming back from NURBS to Sub-D looks like it’s not staying welded together and when joined creates a lot of extra geometry.

no… you’d typically want to go one way from subd to nurbs.

you can get back to sub d with quadremesher, but it’s not ideal compared to staying in subd as long as possible.
