Structural Beam Tracking - Updates does not work

Hi @Japhy ,

I am using RiR 1.26.9033.17824 version and Rhino8.12.24282.7001. in Revit 2024.3

I do not know if this is a bug… I cannot update the structural beam when I move the internalized point location in the same xy plane…

Thanks in advance.

Hi @chandra,

Thanks for the video…
Exactly… I am encountering the issue with the update tracking method.
Replace is not an ideal solution as we would like to keep the same RevitID when Beam is modified.

I think this might be a bug…

Thanks for your feedback and this issue has been reported.

Hi @jessesn,

Nice to eMeet you.
Thanks a lot for reporting it as a bug.
I will followup the updates regarding the bug fixes in the future.

You are welcome and this is my job :slightly_smiling_face:

The error is happening due to the existing beam giving this error, so creating a new one works, modifying the existing in this manner might not be possible (error is coming from Revit)

Hi @jessesn

Could you please look into an issue with the steel connection in Revit 2025? When the RiR plugin is loaded, it causes the steel connection to produce an error or crash, resulting in a complete loss of functionality for the connection. The issue resolves itself and returns to normal once we disable the RiR plugin and restart the software. Thank you for your attention to this matter, appreciate it.

This is most likely a plugin conflict, there have been several reports but we’ve been unable to repeat.

Hi @Japhy ,

Thank you for your replies. I turned off all the plugins except for RiR, and the connection was normal. However, when I enabled only RiR (using the Revit 2025 add-in manager feature), the problem occurred again. I’m unsure where the issue lies, as everything works perfectly in Revit 2024.3. Do you have the same issue, @park? I appreciate your patience.

UPDATE!
After using the latest RiR 1.26, all steel connections work fine in Revit 2025.3, and there are no errors anymore. Thank you!

Hi @Japhy,

Thanks for the response…
To chek our model comparisons, we will need to keep the existing GUIDs…
creating new compnents work, but we cannot track the model amendments…
Do you have some advises for this case, where we have structural beams from RIR definition… and have to update again in the future using the same definition…

Thanks in advance.

Junghwo,

Lets wait and see the results of the bug report, ideally this isn’t a limitation of the Revit API and there is something we can do about it.

Hi @park,

This issue is solved on the daily build and will be released on v1.27 next Tuesday.
