Stress field selection

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on FEM with Karamba and Millipede. I need your help about how to select the main stress fields (maximum and minimum) on the base structure. I want to select black and white areas—mesh surfaces—separately. I will use these areas to distribute lattices on them. Can you help me, please?

Hello
it is better to not double post ! You could have posted data in this post !

This type you included file, it is more simpler to help
Cutting the mesh is named MEsh Iso Splitting. I here use my tool from Nautilus.

I have to use the color to extract data. I don’t like that but stresses are on faces and not on vertex!
You can then orient lattice using Stress Lines

Thanks a lot! How can I extract each mesh surface separately, only within the boundary?

Mesh Iso Splitting is outputting mesh, choose the one you need. They are sorted using iso value.

Thank you

I want to ask another question about a similar topic. I need to select twisted boxes in 3D that are located in the stress region. I explain in the picture what I want to do. Can you help me, please?

You could use the bounding box of the twisted box, then project the center on the XY plane then test if the points belongs to the desired zone. If yes keep the twisted box. But if you want a nice looking why not QuadRemeshing the IsoSplitted Mesh !!

I think I couldn’t explain myself. I want to select twisted boxes only located in the white area. I intend to fill these boxes with BC lattice units, the other areas located in the black region will be filled by FC Cubic lattice. My main question is how to select and group the boxes separately according to the color of the regions. Do you have any idea?

Probably it was a long time ago, but do you know a good source to learn Millepede?

I have the pdf if necessary
