Stream has no data Error

Rhino for Mac will sometimes give this error when opening.

Rhinoceros: Stream has no data
Parameter name: stream.
Cancel or retry.

If this happens to you, please try these steps to fix it.

  1. Open the Mac File Finder application.
  2. On the Menu, under Go at the top of the screen and pick Go To Folder.
You can also use the keyboard short cut: Shift + Command key + G.
  3. In the Go To Folder dialog, enter the following:
    ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/6.0/License Manager/Licenses
    or for 7
    ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/7.0/License Manager/Licenses
  4. In the Licenses folder, highlight the license files and delete them.
  5. Now try to open Rhino.
With these license files missing, you will be asked to provided a license for Rhino.
When you do, these files will be recreated and Rhino should open normally.

Just to help the search engine, could you fix the typo in the title?

Although gaming with Rhino could be intriguing!

Thanks, @wim.
