Strange workspace issue

I was fiddling with the workspace configuration and all of a sudden the top bar (highlighted in the red box) was missing. I couldn’t get it back so I did a re-install and wasn’t able to re-produce the problem. though someone should know, seems like a trap that others may fall into.

that’s the toolbar.
you can hide/show it via right-clicking on it-> Hide Toolbar… or with the View menu-> Hide/Show Toolbar.
you’ll find these same options in many other mac applications.
