Strange issues/crashes - baking as blocks and hidden error windows

My problem is not yet diagnosed fully but recently I have had issues with focusing on the right application window and baking Graphical Elements as Blocks.

Using Rhino 8.2.23325 and RiR 1.18.8725 , Revit 2024

  1. I suspect it might be something with baking Graphical Elements as Blocks because it happened for the first time when I was trying to use the new Content Cache method to bake Graphical Elements as Blocks.

  2. Now I have a silent crash by simply trying to bake one Revit Wall by pressing insert key on Graphical Element component - I can reproduce it.

By accident I managed to display this error - it was hidden underneath the Rhino window, and I didn’t spot it even when minimalizing Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit. It wasn’t visible in the taskbar also. I forced it to show in front of the Rhino window when I clicked on “About”. During the time when this window was hidden, I couldn’t pan Revit viewport (holding MMB) but I was able to use mouse scroll to zoom in and out. I even could start drawing Walls by WA but the escape key wasn’t working so I couldn’t end the command this way.

This happens in a new session of Revit?

Can you post your About info from the Rhino.Inside.Revit Ribbon?

Twice Revit crashed and right now baking Graphical Element didn’t crash Revit but it is doing what is shown in the video.

Rhino.Inside Revit: 1.18.8725.12677 (2023-11-21T07:02:34)

[Expanded Information]
Rhino: 8.2.23325.14001 (Rhino 8)
Revit: 2024.0 (24.0.20.20)
CLR: 4.0.30319.42000 (4.8.9181.0)
OS: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.22621.0

I’m on a similar build now and not seeing any issues. Simplest way to start troubleshooting is to uninstall Rhino.Inside.Revit, re-install. If that does resolve it try a previous version if you have one handy.

You’ll want to update your Revit 2024 to avoid schema conflicts (not related to what you are experiencing)

Tough luck… I tried one more, older daily build, and had the same issue. Previous versions (16 and 17 do not work with Rhino 8). However, everything works fine on my work computer, but it’s Revit 2022 and maybe some less GH plugins.

OK, I got it…
It was because of the SuperF2 grasshopper plugin.

Yesterday I was searching for the food for rhino and installed a few grasshopper addons which looked interesting. SuperF2 plugin is a nice idea and certainly a handy panel but unfortunatelly I must split ways with it for now. The whole thing is a coincidence because this plugin also highlights GH geometry in the viewport and when I was referencing Grahpical Elements and baking them it was also processed by this plugin and something is making it break the RiR.
