Strange custom preview bug

Hi all,

I am dealing with a custom preview bug.

I’ve been working in RH WIP. I notice the custom preview works inconsistently: sometimes it shows the objects in rendered view, sometimes it doesn’t. Custom preview does work when I switch to wireframe or shaded view, for example, but not when going back to rendered.

Even weirder:
I internalize the object, copy-paste it to a blank GH file, and they’re previewed…go back to the previous GH file, they don’t preview. This is extremely annoying – I love Rhino and I’m not complaining, I’m just stating what it is.

‘Happens both in wip and rh8

What do I do? What ‘file’ can I provide you with?

Thanks for your attention!

Sounds much like RH-82108 Custom Preview and Create Material cause display issues

At least in the latest internal build (8.13) that is not happening (anymore).

Perhaps share at least the results of the Rhino command _SystemInfo. And if possible the GH definition and any support files necessary.

When is this released? Or are you referring to the latest WIP build? I’m downloading that now.

My Rhino 8 says it’s up to date SR11 (8.11)

Thanks Nathan

Problem persists

here’s the SystemInfo thing:
Systeminfo.txt (3.0 KB)

And here’s the definition (embarrasing):
def.gh (1.9 MB)

NOTE:
As mentioned before, this will most likely be previewed, because I’ve internalized the data and deleted the rest of the definition…not sure the problem will be replicated…

8.13 will become a service release candidate on the second Tuesday of October.
