By agreement, we have one template with ONLY two dim styles (inch decimal, and inch fraction).
The problem is that other guy here likes tick marks. I despise them.
In our default templates, he’s got them set to his preference. Is there a SIMPLE, covert, way to continue to use a single template, but set up a button to swap between my dim style preferences and his?
My reading here suggests ‘no’,… but it also suggests that y’all are a creative bunch.
I think if you start a new file using your template, then Import his file with the dimstyle with the same name, then you’ll get a conflict resolution question and can choose to use your own dimstyle definition.
He would need to do the same thing.
It would probably make more sense to add and third dimstyle, then you could both select the dims and change to your preferred dimstyle.
I don’t know how dimensions with overrides would act.
My guess is the best option is for you two to come to common ground.
