Squishing after Quadremesh, + bug in squish

I found that flattening the scan of a shoe last with squish (in order to be able to draw 2D patterns), works much better with a mesh made by Quadremesh of the scan, then with the original scan. I will test some more, and ask the people of Jevero (2D pattern design plugin for footwear) if they are looking at this. I know they are eager to have a reliable flattening method, and that squish was not good enough sofar. Maybe Quadremesh is an answer!

There is still this strange bug that makes the flattening unselectable. I work around this bug by using _SelLast directly after squishing and moving the flattened mesh a bit. That makes the flattening selectable again.

I agree, Squish on a simple quad mesh works great. Using the Mesh command on a SubD will also give you options for making a Mesh that is a subdivision level of the SubD. So if you work in SubD that can also get you a mesh that works great with Squish.

Sorry the selection bug is still present with Squish. This is filed as both https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-58242 and https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-58950, I bumped them again, I use the same workaround now too.

I also filed requests recently for SquishBack to have History support, SquishBack to respect groups and a wish to support SquishBack with 3D objects.
