Splitting a trefoil knot (torus loop)

Hello there,

Im trying to split this mathamatical knot a trefoil knot. I have the curve and full closed brep set up well with full parametric control.

The brep is made of 3 repeating units. For fabrication I need to split the repeating unit out. I originally tried splitting the curve then sweeping along the repeating section, but the swept rectangular profile wasn’t aligning with its respective parts. Solving this might be the more eliquent option.

Instead I’ve proceeded with trying to split the full brep via two surfaces. I can create the split once I extrude these surfaces but the result is poor and I lose my full parametric function. It feels crude.

Im sure this shoud be an easy solution but it’s not coming to me or via trying to solve it via AI.
