Why Space pattern by layer is not available? Also the pattern Color cannot be set bylayer even thought the option in the dropdowns exists. I belive the attributes of the va objects should be consistent and with the same options and structure.
Hi @GabrielB the space pattern can’t be set to By Layer, because Rhino Layers don’t have “projection hatches”. They do have patterns (hatches) as section styles, but the pattern you see for spaces is a Projection pattern, not a section style pattern.
I think that is a very nice idea @GabrielB . In my workflow, I also use layers to control the appearance of objects. Would it be possible to access the hatch information, even though it is defined in Section Styles? If so, I think the benefit would be that users would have more opportunities to define their workflows.
@user2745 I also think it would be ideal to be able to assign the hatch pattern of spaces by Rhino layer, but using section styles for that would be confusing and inconsistent. Unfortunately, we cannot provide that attribute, which is unique to spaces, in Rhino’s Layer Editor.
