cool model!
I find stuff like this tends to look interesting if you change the lens length from 50mm to 35 mm and pick a slightly more dramatic viewpoint for the shot.
It may also help to cut the gloss on the gold color just the slightest bit…the reflections can be a little to cgi perfect when you crank them 100%
The mesh and rubber on the cord look great!
Some focal blur and a recording studio as a backdrop might be cool for this too…
I’m dying for this image to tell more of a story…
something in this vein?
Greetings, Kyle. I’ll definitely give that a try—focusing on the lens length and fine-tuning the gold gloss.
Before rendering the mic, I revisited your “Getting Started with Rendering” video on YouTube for a quick refresher.
Thanks again for the great tips—always learning from the best!
if you want to change anything at all you can experiment with different angles to show more environment if you have some, a 35 mm does not help showing more if you dont have more. the focal lengths all have there purpose and it entirely depends what you want to communicate with your image. this endless battle between 50 vs 35 is really boring
i know @theoutside has this very strong opinion about it and spreads it like butter onto every bread he finds.
That’s cool, I’m glad you enjoyed the video-
Make sure to regularly cruise the gallery-
Check out @Gijs stuff… subtle, beautifully composed and always with a lovely color pallet. @CADARTZ also kills it with each and every image, and anything @AlanMattano does. The list goes on and on…
I always spin thru the gallery to find stuff I like and then bug that person for tips and advice, most will be helpful…
that’s how I learned everything I know
(well that, 30 years of trial and error, and a very expensive art school…)
Of course, the video “Rendering in Rhino 7, Beyond the Basics!” is excellent as well!
