Solid Skins V1.0 will showcase the full process of making a game-engine-ready character using Rhinoceros, Blender, and Unreal Engine 5 software chain. What differentiates this webinar from a typical character design webinar is our focus on hard-surface modeling, as opposed to mesh sculpting. Thus the knowledge gained will be easy to adapt to your existing product design or architectural design workflow.
You will be presented with a series of example files of a character at different stages of development, followed by a concise explanation from the tutor. After each teaching stage is completed, the students work on their version of a character body part and practice applying the workflow to their design. These designs will then be textured and animated in Blender.
Finally, the design will be set up and inserted into the Unreal Engine environment. The end goal is to have an animated hard-surface object playing out in real time in Unreal Engine 5.
