So about Keyshot

So because a client uses it I just picked up Keyshot, what is the buzz around it these days, aside from people not liking the pricing model?

Seems easy enough to use…some bizarre oddities like how it hammers the rendering device 100 percent when nothing is happening and the “viewport” can’t be freely sized separately from your output resolution?

I’ve used it years ago to create hrml5 animations. The advantage is that the client gets a nice animation and you don’t share a 3D model.

compared to other render programs (blender) it is easy to use.

assign some materials, some lights and hit render.

Isn’t it GPU enabled rendering? I think used it when it was bundled with Solidedge… it worked well but when it transfers live from the modeler it canned so it gets you results faster… does it integrate well with Rhino? Can it update the rhino file with texture changes?

There’s a live link to update Keyshot with Rhino geometry which works well but when it comes to complex file structures with blocks I find there are a few challenges.
