Snapping to Objects outside BlockEdit

Often I’m editing an object in a block to align with something outside the block. Can snapping to an outside object be accomplished?

That should work. Here is an example coming out of Rhino:

Something must be off on my system; I can’t snap to objects outside of blocks in either Rhino 8 or Rhino 7

Make sure in Rhino Options this is still set:

I am running Rhino 8.

Thanks Scott. That was unchecked. I wonder if there’s the option to have a key command to toggle it. Sometimes it makes things difficult, and sometimes it’s really helpful.
