Snapping not working as expected

Hello all,

This is most likely a noob question, but I thought I had this working before.
If you look at the screen-capture you can see that snapping works only when I create a new curve but not when I want to move points around. Any Idea’s of what I’m doing wrong?

Many thanks… Regards, Robert Glotzbach

Hi @VisualConduct

Instead of using the gumball, grab the actual point for snap to kick in. Or click on the white circle in the gumball and turn on “snappy dragging”, which will do the same thing.

You need to click on the point you want to move and hold down the mouse button for a short time (quarter of a second?) - you can then drag the point to where you want. Sorry, the tooltips do not show up well in this video

Change Gumball option “Smooth gumball” (Smooth Dragging) to “Snappy gumball” (Snappy Dragging). The smooth gumball snaps anyway if you drag it by the “free move origin” (number 2 in the following drawing). You can change the options by clicking the menu ball (number 3 in the following drawing).

Oh Wow… three very thorough and helpful answers in just a few minutes, very impressive.
I was not aware of all these different options in gumball.

Many thanks Gentlemen, much appreciated!

Kind regards, Robert
