Snap and Selection filter state buttons

I am just curious why Snap and Selection Filter become colored buttons?
What wrong with checkboxes? Currently they look clean and neat.

The idea originates from how these checkboxes become really hard to process once they are oriented horizontally.
That being said, I am not a fan of their dark mode color

My preferred layout:

Pusht this to become the new standard layout, I love it!

Like @Gijs mentioned, I don’t think we’re there yet for the dark mode color of selection filters.

However to expand on the “why” more. The problem that v7 and v8 started having was OSnap and Selection Filters being mistaken too easily because they were in the same container with similar text and similar controls. Our plan is to try to help everyone visually distinguish these easier, but there is work to do still.

Interesting. To me, checkboxes are super messy, and these buttons (and their current layout) are much more readable and easier to hit (visually larger and more defined target). And they take up less space, so they’re a great UX improvement for V9! :+1:

I just wish I could customize their colors.

And maybe put them in two columns rather than two tabs? (The tab is an extra click.)

Hi Robert -

Those are two different panels that are in the same container. You can easily put each in a different container.

It would be nice though if those two containers could sit side by side where a single container is on top of it. Splitting this way is currently not possible.

Good point, makes sense!

But when im looking for the rest of interface it looks more consistent with checkboxes because they are all over the interface, so for me it is more minimalistic and clean interface, so may be it should be kept as option?

For instance, it looks in harmony when the command menu and filters are in the same sidebar:
