Smithsonian X 3D for the web. Inspiration for V6

Take a look at this, this is a way to present 3D scans on the web.

I really like the way the lights (default scene lights) can be moved around on the sphere in the GUI. This would be great for a default lighting system for V6.

Also look at the “ambient occlusion”.

I really, really like the UI that’s used there.

The effects are great, and it is really easy!

The layout and icons look familiar - p3d: https://p3d.in/gallery/staffpicks

Nice to see our service linked here as well. I’ve been working on p3d.in since its beginning.

And FYI, I’m working on an uploader/exporter so one can upload directly to p3d.in from inside Rhino

Is it using the same technology?

I’d check the page source, but the page is currently unavailable. But it could be the same underlying technology WebGL.

+1 to that!

The page is back up, and it indeed is built on top of WebGL.
