Small workflow consistency tip: SelPrev command

After we done wirecut command using keep All option, the SelPrev command select the original brep before operation but ideally it should select the last created brep. So we can work on that last created piece.

Hello,how about SelLast?

same thing.

Iā€™m sorry.
Iā€™m not sure what the problem is, can you upload the 3dm file and an image that shows the problem?

as i wrote, it is not a problem or bug, the file upload is not that helpful. you can just create a box, create a line, use wirecut command from curve and cut the box, the box will split into two seperate soild.
Now if you use Selprev command to select the new generated brep/solid, rhino select both solid which is not the user intended to.

But how would Rhino know which of the new volumes to select? Iā€™m guessing it selects both, because thereā€™s no way of knowing which of the 2 (or more) volumes you deem ā€œthe right oneā€ - it could be either one.

The wirecut tool let you select which side to cut/remove so it is obvious that rhino knows id of both the cutted and remaining solid. If you run the command with keep as none, it will ask you which side of the solid to cut. Now if the user deliberately choose to keep the object then he wants to further modify the geometry otherwise he would simply cut it and work on remaining solid hence a good idea is to select cutted object so the user can use sellast command and further work on it.

Ah, I see what you mean, yes! That makes sense, I guess  Itā€™s probably one of those pesky situations where both cases can be argued for and against.
